Electrically insulated bearing

When current passes through bearings, motors, generators, and related equipment are put at risk. This not only damages the contact surfaces of the rolling elements and raceways within the bearings (electrical corrosion), but also rapidly degrades the lubricating grease. Another additional risk comes from high-frequency currents in motors and generators, which can form a circuit through the inherent stray capacitance of the equipment. If a frequency converter is used, the risk of damage increases.

The Rock insulated bearing is designed to prevent current from flowing through the bearing. The outer surface of its inner or outer ring is coated with an insulating alumina layer, achieved through the application of a complex plasma spraying process for excellent high-quality surface treatment. Compared to other insulation methods, this solution is highly cost-effective.

The outer ring of VL0241 is insulated, with an insulation resistance of 200MQ;

The insulation resistance of the inner ring of VL2071 is 200MQ;

The outer ring of VL0246 is insulated, with an insulation resistance of 400MQ;

The inner insulation of VL2076 has an insulation resistance of 400MN;

Technical advantage

Prevent bearing damage from current; improve equipment service life; interchangeable: the external dimensions and basic technical parameters are the same as those of non-insulated bearings; under normal installation and use conditions, the coating is durable and robust.

Application areas: railway, motor, generator, wind energy, construction, industrial pump, etc.
